Ambivalent Attachment Development

Ambivalent Attachment often occurs when parents or caregivers are unpredictable. They may sometimes be available and other times do not provide the basic support that children need to feel secure.

  • Unpredictable Attachment
  • Insecurity
  • Unpredictable

This seesaw approach to Attachment leads to confusion, feeling anxious and fearful, and learning that your needs are only met unpredictably.

How We Approach Ambivalent Attachment in Live DARe Trainings

DARe 1 looks at origin of Attachment and parenting styles.

As an adult, developing Secure Attachment is possible! Neuroplasticity allows you to re-wire those old Attachment injuries and move toward Secure Attachment.

DARe 1 explores how to create consistency, reliability, and security in your life today and how to assist your clients who have Attachment injuries.

DARe 2 Explores early Attachment patterns and how they manifest in our adult relationships.

Ambivalent injury often leads to connecting with an Avoidant style, which triggers both parties in the relationship into their core of abandonment.

DARe 2 is all about developing healthier adult relationships by using practical techniques, experiential exercises, and Somatic Experiencing to enhance relationships – both personally and professionally.

DARe 4 focuses on Disorganized Attachment, which is often develops due to a scary parent or one who has unresolved trauma.

All regulation must come from the external. Disorganized Attachment can also lean toward Ambivalent or Avoidant.

The Goals of DARe 4:

  • Reduce unnecessary suffering
  • Precise map of how we work our way toward Secure Attachment
